(12)
FB-111 tail no. 272 was the first FB to roll off the mod line here at McClellan First production AMP a/c. (13) Fitted with preliminary double blow-in door intakes. After decomission, aft section was removed to be fitted into 67-7194.
The photo-files contain 180 photos of FB-111A from the 340th BG, 380th BMW and 509th BMW. When possible, photos showing the aircraft in different camo (SIOP and Dark Vark) are included. Most of the photos are color slides from my personnal collection, taken during private visits and open houses in Plattsburgh and Pease AFB. I also bought some in auctions on the web. For example, I paid USD 50.00 for the slide of 68-0246 from the 340th BG taken during a Bomb Comp in England. Thanks to some friends living in New England who shared their photos of FBs with me. Of all 76 FB-111A built, I am still missing five tails; 68-0253, 68-0280, 68-0283, 68-0285 and 69-6511. All five were written off. If by any chance, you have a photo of a FB-111 missing, don't hesitate to contact the webmaster.
